The privacy of your data — At MetaBacktest, we understand the significance of safeguarding your data, which is rightfully yours. In this policy, we outline the details of the data we collect, its purpose, and how we handle it, all while underscoring your rights to your data. When we use terms such as “Company”, “we”, “our”, or “us” in this document, we are specifically referring to MetaBacktest Inc.
Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here’s what that means in practice:
Identity & access
When you sign up for MetaBacktest, we typically ask for identifying information such as your name, email address, and maybe a company name. This is solely for the purpose of personalizing your new account, and to send you invoices, updates, or other essential information. We may also provide you with the option to add a profile picture, but we do not usually inspect or access that picture. Rest assured, we will never sell your personal information to third parties, and we won't utilize your name or company in marketing statements without your permission either.
Geolocation data
We record all access to all accounts by full IP address at MetaBacktest to ensure that no unauthorized access occurs. This login data may be retained for as long as your account is active. Additionally, we log full IP addresses used to register an account, and we maintain this record indefinitely to counteract spammy signups.
Website interactions
When you browse our marketing pages or your dashboard, your browser automatically shares certain information such as which operating system and browser version you are using. At MetaBacktest, we track that information, along with the pages you are visiting, page load timing, and which website referred you for statistical purposes like conversion rates and to test new designs. Occasionally, we track specific link clicks to help inform some design decisions. These web analytics data are tied to your IP address and user account if applicable and you are signed into our services. Rest assured, at MetaBacktest, we blind all of these individual identifiers after 30 days.
Cookies and Do Not Track
We don't use cookies on MetaBacktest.
Voluntary correspondence
When you write to MetaBacktest with a question or to ask for help, we keep that correspondence, including the email address, so that we have a history of past correspondences to reference if you reach out in the future.
When we access or share your information
Our default practice is to not access your information. The only times we’ll ever ask, access or share your info are:
Location of Site and Data
Our products and other web properties are operated all around the world. Participating in any of our services and/or providing us with your information, you consent to this transfer.
Your Rights With Respect to Your Information
How we secure your data
All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. The database backups are also encrypted. Most data are not encrypted while they live in our database (since it needs to be ready to send to you when you need it), but we go to great lengths to secure your data at rest.
Changes & questions
We may update this policy as needed to comply with relevant regulations and reflect any new practices. Have any questions, comments, or concerns about this privacy policy, your data, or your rights with respect to your information? Please get in touch by emailing us at support@metabacktest.com and we’ll be happy to answer them!
